Have you ever wondered how New England got its name?
It’s really inspiring! The first settlers that colonized New England came with the vision of creating a new England built on the values they espoused, not those of England- and it worked!
New England is made up of 6 very diverse states that all pride themselves on their unique identity and individual charms, but Massachusetts will always be my favorite part of New England!
Massachusetts is the most populated State in the New England Area, and it’s easy to understand why. Massachusetts is home to some of the most prestigious universities in the US. Each day more than 100,000 New Hampshire residents commute to MA for work, or to enjoy Massachusetts’s beautiful mountains, lakes, skiing, hunting, and a breathtakingly beautiful coastline with some of the best seafood you’ve ever eaten!
Our capitol city, Boston, is a busy metropolis with a booming real estate market. Boston has an international airport, ample employment opportunities- and, of course, LOTS of professional sports teams!
History and progress merge beautifully in Boston, and historic homes in the area are always highly sought after. I love touring historic homes with my clients and pointing out the original charming details like fireplaces and widow’s walks that are nearly 300 years old!
Those details help ease the pain of renovations- which admittedly, aren’t always easy. Updating a house with a historical designation requires approval and ordinances for nearly everything- including paint colors! But it’s worth the headache when you see stunning feats of historical architecture restored to their original splendor.
Thinking that Massachusetts might be a great fit for your family? Want to make Boston your new hometown? Let’s talk!
